FOREST GARDENING WORKSHOP
May 21- 23, 2010
Starts at 7:00 pm on May 21 and ends at 5:30 pm May 23

Forest gardening is an efficient form of human food production which mimics the vertical layering of a natural forest. A canopy of standard fruit and nut trees, an understory of dwarf fruit and nut trees, a shrub layer of berries, an herbaceous layer of perennial herbs and vegetables, a ground cover of strawberries and low herbs, and a climbing vine layer of grapes make up an ecological polyculture. Learn to create this beautiful edible landscape in your own yard.

Instructor: Dawn Shiner lives simply by choice and has guided Permaculture Design workshops and courses at universities, environmental centers and private residences since 1987. She is the founder of Dancing Green, Inc. and serves as a Regional Organizer for Gaia University. Dawn holds an MS in integrative EcoSocial Design with a focus on Permaculture Education from Gaia University.
